Bibliographical Information

Vol. 54 (2011) of the German Yearbook of International Law  examines the current issues surrounding the Arctic, including the legal questions and challenges faced by various governing organisations, questions on regional cooperation and mechanisms, indigenous rights, and the European Union. This volume features articles from major scholars on the Polar Code, Arctic Council, UNCLOS, maritime delimitation, delineation, climate change, limits of the Continental Shelf, regional fisheries management, traditional territory, the draft Nordic Saami Convention, comparisons of the Arctic and Antarctic regimes, and the European Union influence in the Arctic region.

The global financial crisis is examined from both international and EU law perspectives through the existing international financial architecture and the European stability mechanism in our Forum section.

Our General Articles section features diverse articles on critical legal theory of interpretative fidelity in international law, the conservation and management of shared fish stocks and its international trade regimes, state responsibility in relation to deep seabed mining, genetic testing of embryos in vitro, treaty bodies and an analysis of the Eurasian Economic Community.

Thank you to all of our authors for making this volume possible.
